An examination of the use of Web 2.0 tools and Blackboard tools for the purposes of determining the direction in which training should take place is the main focus of this article. Education and training is informed by education theories, the demands of a community and the technology which supports teaching. Research is done within the English department to determine what training is required to enhance and facilitate teaching and learning.
